Hello guys,
I'm preparing to adhere several speakers to the round weighted housings in my Genesis consist of three EMDs. After viewing a couple of DCC installation videos, Erik from Tony's Trains recommends Pliobond. He says it gives a good bond but if you need to remove the speaker at a later date it's not stuck like it would be with a super-glue. Pliobond is also recommended by FastTracks hand-laid tracks and Microengineering for bonding twist ties, PCB ties, metal rail and switches, etc.
thing is... I have a tube of Liquid Nails Silicone Adhesive (clear) and I'm wondering if this would work just as well, OK but not as well, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A thin film of silicone. Will keep the speaker in place, is pliable and will easily let go if need be.
Mark.

Any other thoughts on a side by side comparison?

I have used regular rubber cement for attaching speakers. I have also used it to seal up steam loco tenders.

Any other thoughts on a side by side comparison? I've never used Pliobond, but silicone should work as well or better. The main thing you want is a flexible, but removable bond. The CA would definitely be a bad idea IMO, as it's rigid when dry. I'm curious whether the speakers or their enclosures came with an adhesive gasket sized to fit. Many do, so that's what I typically use. You didn't mention enclosures, so thought to ask because generally you do want an enclosure.
