Hey, with the MR/RMC thread below I think it's only far the two prototype mags get some time also. So, being White River also got Railfan & Railroad and then merged it with their own Railroads Illistrated how do yo think it now compares with the R&R Carstens was putting out and Kalmbach's Trains Magazine? For the record, I get both and like the new R&R but really miss RI.

LONG time subscriber to TRAINS, Railfan & Railroad never caught on with me. I've not seen the new version. TRAINS has been part of my life for 60+ years.
I really did and at times still do enjoy Railroad in the old pulp paper era with decent fiction as well as prototype information and the occasional cheesecake shot as well.

don't really relate to Trains or R&R&RI,too modern and don't care about Today's Rail Scene. last thing of Intrest here was the CR Split Up. do like TRP,and Classic Trains when they can be gotten cheap. do pay full price for the Current Diesel Era. and really enjoy the ELHS "Diamond". like the Glorious Past of RRs !!
