Bobby, That turned out beautifully, a silk purse outta a sow's ear. I pulled out a pair of old MDC Overton cars I built 40+ years ago, converted them to narrowgauge and just left my steady hand brush paint work alone for now. They are handy if you need a short train. Been thinking they'll eventually be painted Pullman green to match the rest of the passenger stock, although the caboose combine makes more sense in tuscan IMO. Caught a couple of standard gauge passenger trains in Durango here. Finally, a couple of yard/locals getting ready to sort things out and build some trains in the Durango yard in another view.

I recently did some experimenting with photos in the dark. Here's my Amtrak Veterans P42 pausing for a station stop:

Bobby, nice car, I have three of those to work on at some point, I have Plano's kit to do those but they still need a lot of other work as your car shows! Managed to get some cars done this week! I managed to finish the sixth car in the series of Tichy Anderson's quasi covered hoppers this week, normally I would say I have 4 to go, but I acquired another one so I still have 5 to finish. Car painted with Model Master's Aluminum Paint with a tint of Green Paint and Reading Green on the Extension. Decals were included with the kit. Con-Cor 60' Greenville Auto Parts Car, kit built without any modifications as the MP cars were the short (41') wheelbase. Car was assigned to the Detroit and Toledo Shoreline to the Monroe Bumper Plant for Ford. Car Painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and Floquil Platinum Mist Paints and lettered with Oddballs Decals. Another 60' Greenville Boxcar Kit, but this time I removed the rivit detail and changed the wheelbase to 46' to match the ACF Cars acquired by the SP for Ford Service in the Milpitas Pool. Car painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Herald King and Walther's Decals. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Mr. Pitts truly is a master. That is an excellent car. Since we've got some auto parts boxes today, here's the other end of the assembly process. GTW 304377 model by Kurt Kruse, on Flickr Accurail undecorated partially enclosed bi-level standing in for the GTW's W&K rack and flat. Added the sill gussets at the trucks, painted Model Master French Blue. Microscale GTW and CN autorack decals, and a bit of weathering. Picture isn't the greatest, one of my first attempts to shoot a long car. Thanks Kurt Kruse

Nice work as always so far! the CNW C44-9W I posted last weekend was a bit lonely and I liked how it came out, so I dug into my secret stash of locos and built up a CNW 8701 as an 'as delivered' model (the other CNW unit still on the UP roster). Before reworking and renumbering: And after... Since I had a moment of free time (rare for me...) I figured I'd build myself another fantasy Rock Island Blue and white SD70 from my stash of SD70's. It's about ready to hit paint...I should post finished pics next week. Enjoy! Kelley. www.dufordmodelworks.com

Got a chance to finish this car up, (that was only partially done at the Portland NTS) and run it yesterday on the La Mesa Model Railroad Club Tehachapi Pass exhibit. This is a new Cannon and Company Laser cut box car kit that I will have available from the Cannon shopping cart in about a week. Dave Hussey Cannon and Company

I see a lot of really good work on display this week! The weather is still pretty bad right now, so I will have to wait until later to get some decent photos of my latest caboose project. For now here are some quick grabs from the phone: The starting point is the Atlas Extended Vision caboose.

Kelly, I can relate when it comes to life taking up all my time. Good to see that you're getting some model railroading done. I always enjoy seeing your work. As for me, I got these gems done. CSXT 709 and 701 got to make their first revenue run today with southbound container train. 709 is an older RTR model while 701 is a newer run of Genesis SD70MACs. Here they are stopped at Wildwood waiting to meet a northbound. CSXT 709 CSXT 701 And the two of them together with a cow photobombing my picture: Enjoy, -Dave

I picked up a Bowser cabin kit cheaply not realizing it had missing parts, so scratched new ends. Also dis more work on my PRR/NYC/PC F units - got all the underframes done. Good stuff this week as usual.
