Hey Folks,
Im trying to find out what you guys would think is the best running switcher. I need a 4 switchers. Anything will do but nothing bigger than an MP15dc. I hear Kato NW2 (new version?) is a real good runner. They will be used mostly in yard and local service so they need to be reliable, quiet and most of all smooth as silk. Opinions?

 Think Atlas has the Switchers covered rather well,Baldwin VO-1000, Alco S-2,RS-1,EMD MP15DC. Kato and Bachman have EMD NW2s. Proto had the 1950s EMDs,SW8,SW9,SW1200. did Proto ever do the Alco S-1/3s in N ? not all of the above may be readily in Stock currently,but should be able to be found at shows,etc. Spikre

If you want to mix in a couple smaller one's try out the Bachmann 44 & 70 tonners as they run remarkably well and for a private label railroad or business they are available painted in various paint with no decals or numbering , making that easier . And they come with a basic DCC decoder.
