As part of the track planing exercise I offer up the two plans I did for Slate Creek Industrial. First Slate Creek was originally planed and designed for N Scale and here is the plan. This is a 1' x10' layout. The track plan was designed following the more modern ISL designs suggested by Lance Mindhiem in his switching layout books and after months of researching the prototype industrial branch lines using Bing and Google maps which I found to be a valuable research tool.. Here is the N Scale Slate Creek.. Now Here is the Slate Creek plan for HO using a 1' x 10' board.Again based on modern ISL design principles. I redid Slate Creek using a runaround but, still kept things simple while avoiding a time waster saver design. I would like to hear your thoughts on these plans.. BTW..All buildings are Walthers Cornerstone "Back ground" buildings and track program is Anyrail4 EN.

I'm not a fan of time saver or shelf switching layouts. The exception would be plans like you have designed that could be incorporated into a bigger layout.
When I get caught up with some other MRR projects I am planning a fairly compact HO layout in my garage and will quite possibly incorporate Slate Creek or a variation there of .
The 10' length looks good but I would mostly likely go with a width of 18".Doubt I would change much else though. ;D

If this is part of a larger layout, then the versions without the runaround might work well. As just a switching layout, you will for sure want to include the runaround, and I would include some tracks approached from the opposite direction just to add interest.
I like what you already have, and it looks well thought out.
