Hello all, Can anyone help with this? Engine is a standard DCC H0 Atlas Gold series GP38/40. It has QSI sound. On a track controlled by a Dynamis EZ Command, when I double push F9, yes even several times to go through the 3 stages of shutdown, the engine does not shutdown. I tried resetting the engine with the magic wand (and it said 'reset' so that works), no result. I tried all 20 functions. Horn, bell, lights all work. It's just that shutdown doesn't work. But on a DC track controlled by a simple Quantum Engineer add-on (the box pictured below), it does work: the engine sound shuts down just like it should, when I push shutdown. Startup & everything else works too. (http://www.amhobby.com/products/tech/qsi/qsi-qe-review.html) I also have a Proto 2000 EMD E7 engine, also standard DCC with QSI, that one does respond correctly to the F9 shutdown command... What am I missing here? Anyone? Thanks in advance! :-) wekke

Try it on a layout with another brand DCC system. It's my guess the issue is with the Bachmann system.

Are you certain that all other functions work? Try F10, and you should get the "ID xxxx" (the DCC address) when sitting still, or the scale speed when moving. My guess is that the Dynamis system doesn't access anything above F8. The original Digitrax Zephyr (DCS50) didn't access above F8 by itself as it's another level of code needed above the base DCC standards (the updated Zephyr, the DCS51, does).
The other issue might be if the Dynamis system can't transmit the double click fast enough to engage the decoder's programming.

Ah... No I don't get those functions either... Well not with this engine, it does with the Proto 2000 EMD E7.
