Guys my choice of decal set solution has been Champ. Anyone know where i might find a bottle lurking? now that they are long gone! Whats your choice? I dont like microscale..................thats just me.Steve

I dont like microscale..................thats just me.Steve Steve I will check my local shop, but I always found the Champ to be too much for me. ] Micro SOL and Micro Set are both usable as you probably know. Thanks larry! i guess its all what you get used to using. Might be me but i found Microscale agressive. Maybe i need to get used to a newer product. What other choises have you come across?. Steve

Champ's I had to dilute with water. You're the first I ever heard of doing that. May I ask why? I've used that stuff since my first decaling job back in '61.

I did it about half and half because it ate Microscale decals. And other decals that are thin. Also burned holes in Herald King. I started using it about the same year. Seems like yesterday. I liked the smell better than the Hobsco stuff from Walthers. Of course the oomph/strength was needed because Champ and Walthers decals were so sturdy. Whether a modeler feels a need to dilute certainly depends on application technique.

Well i figure the small brush i use to move decal around thats in and out of the water saucer probably dilutes it enough as thats how i have done it for years . i wonder what is in decal set?. maybe you could make your own .Steve

I never had a problem of course for years my decal of choice was Champ. I been using Walthers Solvaset with MicroScale decals and don't have a problem..
