A pic of the legendary Rio Grande SDL-39 in action... I worked out a trade with my wife to move the fluorescent fixtures I was using for lower deck lighting up to the kitchen for under cabinet lighting. In return, I got to install LED light strips to replace the fluorescents and bring all my primary lighting into the LED age. Keeping with the RR-inspired home remodeling theme, I moved some old file drawers out of the utility room that's the entrance to the main layout room to make room for a crew lounge. The yellow isn't quite Aspen Gold, but close enough. I'll also credit my wife with choosing the 4-stripe uinstead of the single stripe scheme. It turned out well despite the extra taping, etc involved. Finally a pic of the Anasazi Bean Co-op, also enhanced by the new lower deck lighting.

Happy Sunday all! Dusted off the cobwebs on the paint booth and a model I started like a year ago since I had a few minutes yesterday. It's been a while, but masking and painting is like riding a bike. Enjoy! Kelley. www.dufordmodelworks.comAttachments:

Thanks for posting, the LED lights seems to work well for multi-deck layouts. Here is a couple pics from finishing up Ford Park on my layout. Using teflon tube/piano wire to extend the reach of ground throws. All track, controls and feeders Regards, Brian

Great start this Sunday! I really like the lounge area Mike. I took this picture of a run through my Buckeye Creek wye. When I refinish rolling stock it takes a ride to make sure it runs well... The boxcar is being patched and tuned up

And thanks for your kind comments, too, Tony. I'm more than happy to have visitors, PM me to arrange if you're ever about two hours south of Chicago with an extra hour. Or, if you're planning on attending the NMRA Convention in Indianapolis in early July, the layout will be part of the associated ops sessions. We're about 2 hours east of there, but my pal Rick Schroeder's Danville and Western and my Rio Grande Four Corners Division will both be holding sessions organized through the convention. Our listings are about 3/4 of the way down the page here: www.nmra2016.org/#!operations-layouts/chmr That's one of the reasons why I cleaned things up and made room for the crew lounge. I've still got some more improvements to make, plus need to find a mini-fridge Will have more pics eventually. Right now I need to get the dug-up main fixed before Wed. night's ops session, plus finish the new garage door. Glad I've got the diss about finished.

Day late and a dollar short as usual. I can't ever get pics to upload from home. Here is a Walthers 60' box that I added Details West coupler pockets and Plano crosswalks too. For my era this car represents a pretty fresh re-paint so it won't get much weathering. I just like to grab a few pics before dirtying stuff up. Thanks for looking.

Brian is there a theme to your layout or are you building freelance?? It looks great. Theme, yes, modeling "scenes" of the DT&I. I like operations, so taking parts of the real railroad and incorporating them into my layout. Sometimes things don't fit, so either I mirror the scene, or I just have to modify to fit my space. I have an odd space to begin with, but I spent a lot of time planning so it will workout. My layout goes from basically Trenton MI, down to Lima OH. Here is more pics of my layout. s379.photobucket.com/albums/oo239/dti_nut/DTI%20Home%20Division/?albumview=slideshowBrian

Some really nice photos here. I will have to figure out how to post full size photos, but here is my two cents.
