Anyone else do any modeling over the long weekend? Post photos or tell us what you did. Not an exact model but close enough is Chicago Great Western business car #99. This was built for someone who used to work for the railroad and also rode this car several times. Hope he gets as much enjoyment out of it as I did while building it. Bill Denton

Haven't done any modeling or train running yet and I have to work tomorrow, so no long weekend for me. That is a nice looking car, skytop.

Jumping into Model Railroad Season with some recently finished Freight Cars. Worked on them the last couple of weeks but applied the finishing touches this weekend. Since I was painting a boxcar with Floquil Dark Green paint, I assembled this Atlas kit quickly and painted it also, lettered with Herald King Decals, an Ex-M&StL PS 2003 CF Covered Hopper, lettered in the current C&NW scheme while keeping its old car number. A Details West FGE RBL Boxcar Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Aluminum (Roof), CNW Yellow (Sides) and Black (Ends). Lettered with Herald King Decals. The CNW rostered a large number of these FGE RBL's. Even though ExactRail made a RTR version of this car, I already had the Microscale Decal for this car so I got an undecorated kit. Car in Painted in White, Black Underframe and a Galvanized Roof. Used Scalecoat II paint. Thanks for looking! Rick J

Not much so far... the weather outside has been too nice and there's too much other Labor to do on Labor Day Weekend.
I was over a friend's house Saturday night continuing to work on a Heljan sanding and fuel facility. It's a non-trivial kit with a lot of parts and a fair amount of painting requested by my friend to give a cue that it's on the Great Northern (my friend's pike is quite large and includes UP, NP, GN, SP&S and MILW in Washington State circa 1970).
I am almost done with a Branchline "Dubois Store" and when I next come up for air I'll shoot some quick images.

This has been a very busy time for me, so I didn't get any modeling done, but I did get a chance to run some trains.
