Do you still have to have a Photobucket account to post pictures?

Do you still have to have a Photobucket account to post pictures? Photobucket isn't required. Anywhere you can upload photos will work. A free Dropbox account, etc...

Can you post them just like selecting photos off my tablet and posting? Like Facebook?

Can you post them just like selecting photos off my tablet and posting? Like Facebook? Yes, sort of. Using the "Add attachment" button you can upload photos from your computer. Like this: I'm not sure if they always show up as this size thumbnails. Clicking on it displays the full-size image. This method uses valuable storage space on the Forum. But most people(?) post links to photos that are hosted elsewhere (on teh web) via the "Insert Image" button, like this:

Is a Dropbox account easier to load and sort photos to than Photobucket? I use the free version of Photobucket and it is “loaded” with junk ads that seem to really slow down the site. That and it seems like the site is clitchie at times and will hang up requiring a refresh of the page. I don't think the problem is my computer as I've tried accessing the site with my work laptop and it still is slow and clunky to work with.
Thanks, Mark

Dropbox wasn't developed as a photo storage & sharing site, but it works fine for my occasional posting. I don't store & sort my photos in teh cloud, so I just need a place that's easy to upload to & share links. It may work well for mass quantities, I don't know. Files uploaded to DB can be accessed via the website or, if you have the program/app running, it will look & behave like a local folder- except you can copy a public link from the filename or share the photo access without going to a web page. Free (limited space) and no ads. There are other similar services.

[snip] I use the free version of Photobucket and it is “loaded” with junk ads that seem to really slow down the site. Thanks, Mark [snip] I use the paid version of Photobucket and it is not any faster. Frequent outages and slow-downs are the norm. On rare occasions P-B is lightning fast and works as expected. I'm "too invested" to change horses this late in the race and I would hate to break the links to all the previous photos I have posted. For now I'll stick with P-B but I sure hope they get their servers tuned up better. Ed
