One of the most enjoyable things on the old forum was SNFF. It was originally started on Sunday, and then it was moved to Saturday, so I'm starting it on Saturday. I would like to see SNFF continue here, so let's get going. This is what my wife worked on last night. We call it the Mansion on the Hill. I played around with the pictures to see what it would look like as a 1959 photograph. Ignore the dragon in the background picture. He's just guarding the layout room. Take it away.

Douglas, that pic sure looks a LOT different than just the other day. The scenery looks nice and the B&W pic is pretty neat!

An old color photo of a completely weathered and kit bashed Southern Ms-4 Mikado #4910 on the mainline with the town of San Marino in the background. The Southern Ms-4 Mikado was kit bashed from a generic Kato Mikado using a GHQ pewter detail kit. Stay cool and run steam.....

I love the engine and the scene. It has that "I've been there" feel to it.

This has been under construction as time allows. It is 10' x 14' layout and has a double mainline underconstruction. I built the trestle and is a curved double track. I handlay by code 55 turnouts also.

Protocol question... is the idea to have an SNFF each week, or just add to this thread?

Protocol question... is the idea to have an SNFF each week, or just add to this thread? It was supposed to be a weekly event. But there appears to be a lack of interest at this stage of this forum's development. Stay cool and run steam.....

Until things get going, we'll just add to this one. When things take off and we start getting enough posts, we'll start new threads each week. It's called growing pains.

A closeup photo of UP "Challenger" #3977 on the bridge of the turntable. Most of the 24 stalls in the Roundhouse are filled with steamers waiting for servicing. Stay cool and run steam.........

A full view of the Switching Yard (17' long) of The JJJ&E from the roof of the Roundhouse. The ballasting of all the track has been completed. I used Arizona Rock & Mineral ATSF Windsor "New Hue" Ballast for the mainline and Black Cinder Yard ballast for the Switching Yard. I also installed NJI International three over two block signals and double track signal bridges run by Logic Rail Technologies signal boards. There is also one BLMA Cantilever single track Bridge on the far right. I used a NJI three light signal head in the BLMA cantilever signal bridge.

Lee, how secure is that for corners? I have a couple of corners that would benefit from something like that.
