A new video showed up today from someone else on the platform. Both are great. One person did get hurt pretty bad, split their face open from falling.

Yeah I saw this too. Did the people on the platform not realize that they were going to be BLASTED by the snow until the last split second? I mean, really? It's not like their back was to it..... They were facing the oncoming train. How dumb can they be?!?!?

It's ironic that Amtrak (or their contractor) had done such a beautiful job of clearing and salting the platform for the safety of the passengers. The engineer probably didn't realize how deep the snow on the track was. If he had I'm sure he would have entered the station at a much slower speed. Not a high point for Amtrak with their customers.

I saw a news report on it last night it didn't say anything about anyone getting hurt. The first video i saw on facebook was from the person who filmed it and just happen to be a contracted worker to do the snow removal. He said one person got head cut open and a few bruises from the larger chunks flying. But everyone else was just mad lol

Yeah, now looking at it again, maybe they were not paying attention. Looks like some may have had their heads buried in their phone, and didn't see what was coming!

That seems to be the sad commentary on todays pedestrians - head down on the precious smart phones; I see them head down crossing streets all the time. How ironic it would be if a distracted driver playing with his smart phone took out a pedestrian who was not looking both ways because his head was down on the same thing.
