I haven't been able to find anything about the cars in your photo but I did find an earlier incarnation of the same door layout.  Anyone know more about these SAL cars, were they just an experiment? The right hand door appears to a regular sliding door but the left door can only slide to the right also? This would allow unloading half the car from the one side with a forklift and if the opposite side has the doors on the opposite end a forklift could unload the entire car without having to go into the car. The one in Tim's picture appear similar to some of the Thrall all-door cars but with only two doors. |

With regards to the SAL car, it look like you can't actually open both doors at once, the left hand one moves into the position vacated by the right hand one.
