Good morning. It is clear outside and cooler. We were supposed to go to a friend's house this afternoon to look at a puppy, but my wife got called in to work. I am not sure we want a second dog, though my wife thinks it would be a good companion for both her and the dog we have now. Other than that, I installed a spur with a team track, and planted a single tree on the layout. At this blistering pace, the layout will be complete and fully scenicked by the time I am 144. Have a good week.

Good Sunday Morning to all the Forum Folks. An overcast start to our day. No rain on the radar at the moment, though wedid get a nice rain shower late yesterday morning. Still no train time. Maybe today. LD is doing incrementally better, but still has a bad cough she can't shake. I need to buy stock in a good cough medicine company!! This bronchitis is kicking her butt. Terry, I think you and I are neck and neck in the layout work competition! ;D Until I cut an access hatch in my ceiling for the electrician to get to the junction box and hopefully fix two non-working outlets, all layout track painting, structure placement, etc., is on hold. I'll stay out of the 2nd dog debate.... (none here.... yet)

Morning All!
Not much to report from the land of Buckeyes on this warm and sunny Thursday other then I'm debating if I should get another Buds Trucking or Lauston shipping kit and eliminate the transload( team) track..
On the possiblitity side there's a house coming available. I' been interested in and I might see about getting it.Anyway I will continue the march on Slate Creek since it will be portable. The layout will sit on a 6' folding table since there will be room for waybills'car cards,my T6 with walkaround throttle and a place to sit my coffee or diet Pepsi or diet Coke.I got this idea from a portable N Scale layout at a train show. The guy simply set his HCD layout on the table.
I shall have a cup and look over the forum.
Have a good'un!

I've got something I am not sure about using on my layout. Several years ago, I scratchbuilt a feed store, and put it in a box for storage. It's been all over with me, including, it seems, some place that had water... It is basically ruined, and not repairable. Rather than throw it out, I am considering making it look really bad, stick it in a corner with a bunch of weeds and trees grown up around it, and have an abandoned business. Any thoughts?

The great Bob Ross used the term, "happy little accidents". I think that might apply here. The setting you describe might actually be more interesting that an "as new" would be. I say go for it.

I'll take a couple of photos of my progress--or distress, whichever it may be.
I again woke up this morning to the sound of squealing tires, followed by that crunching, garbage-truck-being-emptied sound of somebody running out of road at the end of my street. I don't know which will happen first, running out of morons that don't know how to drive, or somebody getting seriously hurt.

Terry, I like that idea of using the feed store as an abandoned/grown over structure. There are at least 7 houses and 1 storage building here in town that you wouldn't know were there until winter time, when you can see through the trees/brush. I'll take odds on someone getting seriously hurt before you/we EVER run out of MORONS who don't know how to drive. We only had one accident in town last month,..... this afternoon, we had two, within 20 minutes of each other!!

I am sure you are aware of the increase of "incidents" involving, shall we say, persons of less than stable mental processes during times of full moon. So, if the full moon is when the crazy people run amuck, the new moon is when all the stupid people appear...

Sadly, for us, a New Moon isn't the only time the stupid people appear!!! I also have another theory...... I almost swear that the Town's main water tank has a powerful magnet located at it's top and that all ..."persons of less than stable mental processes" have some sort of magnetic resonance inside their brains. Thus, they are attracted to our fair city! It has been a very pleasant, if a bit warm day. The Poultry Jubilee is still going on. Plenty of food, rides and entertainment. The Chairmen of the Board is playing at the Town Square tonight. The parade went fairly well this year. Traffic, as usual, was a mess immediately afterwards. We have some ideas that I hope the Chamber of Commerce will implement next year to alleviate some of the traffic/parking issues. Since I have to work tomorrow, I didn't linger long, today. My on-duty officer had to go to the ER. She was bitten by a cat she was feeding that had been trapped. It then made good it's escape. I doubt it was rabid, but we just don't know. We're going to set several traps in the area and try to re-capture it. Waiting now to hear from her to see what the doc says. Hope that one and all had a good day.

Ohhhhhhhh Terry,............. The TRUE stories I could tell, but can't and don't!! I do believe that IF I ever wrote a book about my honest to God, true stories that I experienced firsthand or know about from the actual officer involved, the publisher would say it's fiction!!
