For those who are on facebook, there is a group that's putting up some historic pictures. For those of us in modeling, they're exceptional for the detail ideas they give us. Look for, Abandoned, Old & Interesting places-Western PA. I would imagine that there must be a non-facebook connection too, but this is how I came in contact with them. I'll also add another site that gives some excellent color pictures from the late 30s and 40s. It's called Captured: America in Color From 1939-1943. extras.denverpost.com/archive/captured.aspThis would also be a good opportunity for anybody else that has links to groups or sites with historic pictures, to display them. These are valuable in our efforts to produce realism and authenticity in scale.

Terry, that site is amazing, but one word of warning to anybody that goes looking at it, be sure you're comfortable and have several hours to devote to it.

Terry The pictures are worth ten thousands words!!! Those old gas stations long ago shut down and still they stand. We have a bunch of those on old Route 40 east of Sacramento in the Foothills. There are several around Newcastle and one in particular can be seen in a DVD movie that I purchased showing Cab Forwards in the late thirties and early forties. When I look at it today some seventy years later, I am in awe of the building and property that was a business making money so many years ago. Thanks for sharing that web site. Larry

Some of those photos are the inspiration for my not throwing away my ruined feed store, and turn it into something "back in the weeds".
