I have been using NCE's Mini Panels for a couple of months now. They are easy to program. But I got to wondering if anyone has even experienced losing the programming in their Mini Panels? We sometimes see how a decoder goes brain-dead and needs to be reset. I was wondering if this ever happens to Mini Panels. Your relevant experience would be appreciated.

Not experienced with that but, programming losses, etc can be a result of issues, beyond my education, to do with a lack of snubbers at the end of buss line circuits. NCE has a page with numerous links to that type of situation. Read til I got a headache the other night. You and any other dcc user might read and try to understand it. ncedcc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204128735-Snubber-RC-Filter Lots to digest. I know, that doesn’t answer your question.

Not experienced with that but, ... Yeah, I am quite intimate with the NCE documentation. The article you referred to involves mobile decoders, which in fact, a Mini Panel is neither a decoder nor mobile. As a side note, I am big fan of NEVER having to use a snubber. If you find yourself in a situation where a snubber solves a problem, then you failed to follow the manufacturer's directions from the beginning. I have seen so many times where a user thinks they know more than the engineer who designed the system. LOL. Back on topic: my Mini Panels have never lost their programming. I am just wondering if any EXPERIENCED user has ever seen a Mini Panel loose its programming. I am documenting the commands that I put into the Mini Panels using Excel should that day ever arrive, I will be able to re-enter the commands quickly. If no one has experienced a Mini Panel loosing its programming, then I will sleep better at night knowing that is one less thing I need to worry about. RB
