Just completed a GP40 from IC series 3060-3069. These were delivered in August 1969 for service in UP run through on the Iowa Division and included extended range dynamic brakes, plows, and cab signals for that. They also got the 'L' shape windshield. They were also among the first EMDs to get the sight glass window. The model is an Atlas GP40 with Cannon cab, nose, base, fans, and extended range dynamic brake door. The horn is a Details West five chime on an Athearn bracket. It also has a cab signal box, and various grabs and details per prototype. The sight glass was cut in manually. It was lightly weathered for my September 1969 era layout. Practically has that new engine smell. Thanks for looking. Tim VanMersbergen

I like it. Always thought the IC white and orange was eye catching. Under Illinois Central Gulf....I assume paint was not in the budget..... Then 3069 was rebuilt as a GP40r #3129 and lost the L-windshield, Mars light and dynamic brakes. It also was repainted into the Darth Vader AT&T scheme.

Nice ICG Ratbag there. I'll have an ICG SD40 similar to this in about a month. Had special decals made for the white ghost lettering. ICG 6070@KC by Matthew Fisher, on Flickr I like it. Looks great, it's amazing how much a correct cab does for that unit, very nice modeling!

That's the only way to do it with Atlas GP38/GP40s...Cannon everything in front of the clean air room.
