I have an Atlas O scale Conrail ALCo C-630 #6770 and the smoke unit is burned up. The thermistor is completely destroyed the resistor/heating element is burned and charred. Also, the PCB itself has had some of the coating burned off. Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement board and wicking? Sadly TAS, the manufacture is out of buisness. Will the Atlas part # 6947 Smoke Unit work? It says for smoke unit repair and retrofits. I am willing to look into purchasing a loco with similar internals at train shows, so are there any models that have the close internals to my model? Do the C-425/424s have the same unit? Thanks in advance for any help.
