I guess the question I would have here is how much time does this video translate to these RDCs shipping to distributors in the US? They have to all be finished, packed, on the container and the container come to the US and clear a port. 30 to 60 days, 60 to 90 days, X days to "we have no idea" ... ?

Well, I know it's a month to cross the ocean. Time spent in Customs can vary widely, from a week to a month...you just never know. Then it's a week to cross the continent by train and get the container to Rapido Trains World Headquarters. There's at least a week of sorting to do at RTWHQ before shipments to distributers, who then have to sort their shipments and distribute these to dealers. Then the dealers have to ship them to the customers. I figure it's around 2 to 3 months from the moment they leave the factory to being in every customer's hands.
This is my experience from handling the NHRHTA's 8600 coaches and parlors with Rapido.

Well, not quite as dire as Paul says, but he has the sequence correct.
It does take about a month to come across (you've heard of the slow boat from China?). Another week or so to get then out to the distributors (Paul is correct there as well) and roughly another week from there to the dealers. So, 6-8 weeks total from shipping date is typical.

Bill--when are the RDCs shipping? I am trying to get an ETA of when my credit card will be charged for all the goodies I ordered.

Some are on the way, the rest the factory is expecting to ship them by Christmas, give or take a few days. So, depending on which ones you have on order figure early January or early February for a sale date...
No, I don't know for sure at the moment which ones shipped first! ;>)

That kid with the hand motor tool drilling holes must have a whole lot better quality bits than I’ve ever found....I broke 5 #80 bits on one passenger car drilling holes with a pin vise.

I can't help but wonder if the arrest and detention of Meng Wanzhou is eventually going to slow things down for Rapido and those who would like to receive their orders. I sincerely hope not! And it wouldn't just be Rapido.

Bill, Don't you remember your Star Trek? If you want to be considered a miracle worker like Scotty, deliver in less time than you promised...and never tell them how long it actually takes. Rookie mistake, man...

Partially because it has escalated from that arrest to also now China detaining 2 Canadians
On one hand it would be nice to assume nothing will happen, but in situations like this things can get a bit stupid and things happen that normally wouldn't and add in the other issues happening internationally at the moment and who really wants to predict anything at this point.

I would think that the Chinese government would more likely retaliate by suspending imports from Canada, rather then exports to Canada. That would inflict more pain on Canada and less on China. But who knows?
Also, I was thinking the other day about how habit forming buying Rapido products is. A year ago, I really tried to curtail my purchases because, like many on this forum, I simply have too much stuff. Now Rapido makes that difficult to do.

You are far more likely to break bits drilling by hand than with a powered drill. However if you slip with a powered drill you will do more damage.
