I did some work on this old Walthers auto carrier this week. Mainly just paint and a GMC 9500 cab swap. it still needs some detail work done. It's loaded up with some of my 69 Chevy models.

Out west, that orange 9500 would be a PMT (Pacific Motor Transport, division of the SP) auto carrier, seen all over the SF Bay Area and LA. Jim

The results of my two "fleet weathering" projects, altogether there's about 3 hours into the two cars. The different doors and roofs are worth noting, evidently N.A.C.C. used components from many different suppliers to build some car types. The weathering is all chalks and a little colored pencil. Westbound on the D&RGW in '75.

I haven't been able to work on anything lately, but I did find an older picture of IAIS 6988 pulling a train on the club layout that I hadn't uploaded before.

Those look fantastic! Since you do a lot of this sort of modeling I'm curious about a couple things. Do you think HO scale models printed in clear resin, with the shell hollowed out, would be workable? This would give the glass but would make painting more difficult. And, do you have any idea of a good place to get dimensions for 60's and 70's vehicles? I've always liked the mid 60's GM medium duties and pickups for instance and would like to make some of them. Unfortunately I don't know of any in my area I could measure.

They are just basic though. Length, width, wheel base, etc. I personally prefer separate glass myself. Much easier to detail the Chrome window trim, but I'd buy them either way.

Finished a couple. Both started as undec Atlas. The orange one, there are 2 different Microscale sets, and a Herald King set, but all have issues... The logos came from the Herald King set, the the "Cushion service" came from the 1980s MS set, and the rest is generic data. The restencil stuff was custom done by PDC of Canada.

Had a 70 W30 for 20+ years so may do one of those first. hah Assume that's your Nova over the cab?

Whoops, found the site, copies the link, and forgot to paste it. www.classiccardatabase.com Not exactly. My Nova is a 74, and is more of a street/strip car. The model itself is from 87RPM. I need to modify one into a 73/74 so I can build my 1 to 1 Nova.

He gave me one at STL RPM this past summer, and I have to figure out what I'm going to do with it. The black rims on the Walthers and Atlas trucks just kill me. Unless the prototype did something different, painting them white instantly makes a huge difference.

Good afternoon from mostly cloudy, windy and cold Northeast Ohi Photobomb finally opened up so I could download pictures I took this week. Built a 40' PS1 boxcar that will be painted and decaled for the Rock Island. Also built a 4650CF ACF Covered Hopper for the N&W. Started on a Plano/Athearn PS 2600CF Covered Hopper that will be done for the Katy before I tackle a number of these for the DT&I. Athearn Genesis F7's will a coal drag photographed on the Strongsville Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Still working on my NS coal train. I got five more Bachmann hoppers converted to Glatzl couplers and Walthers trucks/Tangent wheels. For some reason, Bachmann chose NS instead of NW for the reporting marks, so those had to be replaced, along with renumbering for duplicate cars. I weathered three of them with chalks and graphite keeping it light since these cars were nearly brand new in my era. The front left car still needs weathering.

I'm thinking I'll do a garbage truck some day with the other cab I got from him. I have some William Ratcliffe 5 spoke wheels coming for the tractor. They are better suited for this rig than the Budd's.

Dug out my WM Big Spring, MD train order office to hopefully get it finished up by the Greensburg RPM next month, that and start a layout for it later this year! These Medford Trains kits really are fantastic for us WM guys. I'm doing just enough interior detailing to be seen through the windows with a dim light on and the operator hunched over his desk.

Ooo, never heard of those guys! The Western Maryland is one of my three pet roads, and there are times where I've debated giving up on my other two (B&O and PC) and modeling the Thomas Sub. Especially seeing as Bowser's going to give us WM fans some sweet RS3's!
