diesel and steam locomotives! Small motherboard accepts all 21-pin decoders Direct replacement for QSI Decoder spaces. (Finally a printed circuit board that fits!!!) Neater installation Stay alive pads for soldering All output functions available for lights Baby board with eight pairs of soldering pads for LED lighting functions Baby board separates so locomotive shell may be removed completely from locomotive Great option to upgrade Atlas Dual Mode, Athearn Blue Box or most any DC locomotives Great inexpensive way to get more lighting functions from new Atlas and other current 21-pin decoder installed locomotives www.nixtrainz.comTry this at about 16:05 also. Questions??? Nick

That is very well thought out, why didn't I think of this. Probably the well thought out part got in my way.

I heard about these from the Streamlined Backshop (http://www.sbs4dcc.com) news letter and immediately ordered some. I like the "generic" nature of this design and the ability to disconnect the lighting connection PCB from the motherboard. This should stream line decoder installs in many of my locomotives, espcially a couple of brass diesels that I want to convert.
Thanks for making these.

I’ve used one this far and I think this is one of the best things to happen to the electronics side of the hobby. It makes it so easy and I love having the extra board for the lights that can be unplugged.

Finally had some time to play with my own Decoder Buddy. Here is a video of the results.
Front and rear headlights, front and rear ditch lights with blink on horn, and two more options. I’ll use them for front and rear number boards. They could also be used for ground lights and courtesy lights.
