I have had some trouble finding any pics from overhead on these so the top of the nose is an educated guess. Surely there is a WM fan that can fill me in on the detailing. Look it over and let me know if you note any errors. Also, a good pic of the sand filler hatch would be helpful.

It looks like the hatch should just be the normal EMD part which was a journal box cover, but with a handle added. I saw you posted the cab on Facebook, so I'd imagine someone has a shot from WM 25 they could share.

Doing that version doesn't look like it would be much additional work.

Gotta love that name Wild Mary. Sounds a bit like a hippy girl from the early 70's.

Another variation is 30 had a second headlight for a little while, but it was later removed:

What brand locomotive is this designed for? Drop in replacement?

What brand locomotive is this designed for? Drop in replacement? Judging by the tabs I'd guess L-L P2K and Walthers Proto.

What brand locomotive is this designed for? Drop in replacement? As Roadkill said, it's a drop in swap for Proto/Life Like Geeps. I don't have a Genesis to try it on but assuming the cab and nose is sized properly it should fit that as well after removing the mounting tabs.

I am not saying its impossible, but you would have a hell of a time fitting parts designed for a Proto on a Genesis. The way they are constructed is just completely different, with completely different sizes on roof radius, cab height, etc.
I think the perfect GP7/9 would be a Genesis from the sill down, with Proto hood/cab/nose.

Might I suggest deleting the headlight? WM GP9's 25-38 had Pyle early headlights and 39-45 had Pyle late style ones, easily replicated with DA parts.

The headlight is a separate piece, just appears to be part of the nose in the render. The kit will have both styles so you can apply whichever you need or can replace with another part if you wish.

Good to know. I don't know of anyone that has tried one of my conversions so far on the Genesis Geeps. Apparently there are enough P2K's out there no one has felt a need. Interesting the dimensions are that different. Obviously they shouldn't be.

Perfect for the P2K/Proto GP7's as well . The Mainline factory chop noses have the benefit of the weight already being cut down.
