The pink cabs on white frames are the signature scheme of a local aggregate hauler. Hard to miss! You have a point there. We have a cement company in Nashville whose cabs are painted not-quite jade green with a modified NYC "Cigar Band" logo. Another friend and I wondered if the owner is (was?) a model railroader or grew up seeing the New York Central.

I'm probably not the only one who sees some highway trucks and wonders how the paint scheme would look on a locomotive. And vv.

I managed to complete a couple of cars this week, and after 10 weeks of the Ohio State Women's Bowling Tournament, I got to the club for the first time in awhile. First up is the 1956 order of PS1 Boxcars (Model by IMRC) by the Ann Arbor, Car is in the as delivered scheme and was in general service on the railroad. Car painted with a 50/50 mixture of Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and Oxide Red then lettered with Smokebox Graphics decals. Next is a Tangent Scale Models PS-3 2750CF Coal Hopper, Assembled, painted with Scalecoat II Black Paint and lettered with Herald King Decals. Cars were purchased in 1958 and hauled coal and coke from Ironton to the McClouth Steel Plant in Detroit. The were sold to the GM&O in 1965 and converted to wood chip hoppers. IMRC F3's with a NYC mixed freight at the Stongsville, OH Model Railroad Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Here are sample versions of a new Cannon Laser Kit I’m developing. The kit B-5042 will build two versions of ACF Double Door Box Cars. One version is the Precision Design version for DRGW 63300-63499 the other version that can be built represents the earlier version DRGW 63700-63799. The Precision Design version can also be decorated as Ann Arbor AA 6000-6049 Dave Hussey pbase.com/dh30973/image/169298047pbase.com/dh30973/image/169298048

The Ann Arbor cars were stenciled 'When empty return to Ann Arbor RR, Whitmore Lake, Mich' indicating that they were originally assigned to the Hoover/Johnson Controls plant there.

Flatcar mania continues over here... Not a new car, but a new load. I've been trying to get a friend to start working with styrene, so I made him put a little box together for this: Next, I've been working on weathering my Tangent UP flat. It's getting there! ...and its load (styrene): Finally, some span bolsters I made for my P&LE heavy duty flat. The car still isn't ratty enough, but the trucks should be good to go now:

I'd like to see Tangent rerun those and a few others Western and midwester good for the 70s.

I'd like to see Tangent rerun those and a few others Western and midwester good for the 70s. Yeah, I lucked out and found the UP at the LHS a while after the fact. The yellow deck and excessive overspray on the prototype sold me. I also wanted to do one of the NW ones like they just ran, but lack of decals stopped me. In the meantime though, I found a kit which I plan to print draft gear for and paint for Wabash (the cushioned Wabash/NW cars had different cushioning than what Tangent offers.)
