Happy Sunday gentlemen, Here's a couple shots of a Bowser 70 ton covered hopper to which I've added a few brake system parts and cut bars, just a simple upgrade to what is a pretty nice little kit for the $12.00 price. The trucks and wheels are nicely done, I've added the black re-weigh patch and new data, from here it's off to the weathering shop to become a pig. Here's a Rapido Gon that I picked up from Pacific Rim Hobbies in Pt. Angeles, WA while on a road trip with my band, it's a great shop, should you find yourself vacationing on Washington State's North Coast it's well worth a visit. Here the 1952 built car has been repainted into the new CP Rail colors and has a set of trucks that have been retro-fitted with new, roller bearings. The model is weathered with gouche, AK Interactive and Bragdon Chalks. Having a great day with my "toys" Regards, Mark Hills

As promised, some color. I weathered this Exactrail boxcar just enough to knock the shine off. This one I replaced the steel bead wire I originally used to secure the load after realizing that our extreme heat and cold cycles were wreaking havoc on the 3D printed load. All but one of the rings was pulled out of round by the wire being too tight when the model got cold. And when it got hot the wire was loose and bent in several places. So I replaced the wire with EZ Line which is awesome. Now the "wire" remains taught but it's still flexible so if I bump it I don't dent it. I also freshened up the weathering on the rings, which should be freshly rusted steel.

I went back in time to get some cars to run in consists for the 1950's. First is a 1937 AAR Boxcar kit from IMWX. The only modification to the kit was the use of Yarmouth Model Works Sill Steps in place of the plastic sill steps of the kit. Painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Speedwitch Media Decals. Car was one of 3,500 built by the NP in the early 40's and used in general service along with hauling grain during the fall grain rush. Next is a post war 1944 AAR Boxcar kit from Atlas (Ex-Branchline), used the 4-4 ends and Murphy Panel Roof to match the prototype along with A-Line Sill steps in place of the plastic ones. Car was painted with a mixture of Scalecoat II Oxide and Boxcar Red paints then lettered with Speedwitch Media Decals. Again car was used in general service. Rapido FA-2's with a train of covered hoppers on the Strongsville Model Railroad Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Here are a few projects I finished in the past weeks. First is Southern 3251 a SD40-2 from a 10 unit order and the only ones to receive the "mailslot" battery doors. NS returned these 10 to the lessor at the end and they went to CP as B units. Hand rail ends still need yellow paint. Base model is a Kato. Next is Conrail 6345 a stock Kato SD40 that only got Cannon fans and DW signal box. Touch up paint was Scalecoat II Conrail blue. Here is a project in the works for the Carolina School of Model Railroading in Winston Salem this November. This will be a Southern ACF 4000 CF in their 99000 series. This is the Bash n Build car this year for the first 25 registrants. Clinic will be given during the meet and later posted to my RPM group on groups.io. The other week I posted pictures of NS 8436 a Dash8-40CW. Several asked for cab detail pics. So here are a few.

What you see is the remains of an Accurail. Kits will be supplied to those 25 people. Sorry but no further details to be given until the clinic is done. RPM info can be seen here: sissonstony.wixsite.com/rpm-carolina

Freelanced Scale Trains SD40-2, loosely based on similar ones the E&LS has. Soo Bandit MP15AC The neat thing about 1543 is it kept its MILW number on the cab end, right until CP sold it recently. Hallmark Brass Caboose - Simple paint and decal job.

Nice models everyone! Here is my photo of my PRR H49 covered hopper on an eastbound Penn Central freight train. I've posted photos of this car in the past but here it is in context. Model was made starting with an undec Exactrail 4427 covered hopper that I shortened to two bays. I added Plano end cages and applied my own PRR decals. The crossbuck RR sign is a nice model from Rix.
