I have a locomotive with a Loksound decoder and speaker. The motor has gone bad. I was thinking of removing the motor and turning the unit into non-powered sound unit. Has anyone done this? Do I need to install a resistor across the motor leads of the circuit board? If so what size?
Thanks John

A 100 ohm resistor will be required across the motor leads in order to do any further programming. If no programming is required, you should be able to leave the resistor out. You can leave the resistor in place, just set CV2,5 and 6 to zero to prevent applying voltage to the resistor.

Thanks Mark. I forgot about setting the CV's to zero.
