I have a friend that is looking to sell his railroad collection. I believe a majority of it is HO. He's been in the hobby for 60+ years so there's a wide assortment from old craftsman kits to new models Spring Mills Depot and maybe an odd Tangent car. Anyone have experience with dealers that buy large collections? Located in Northeast Indiana, 3 hours from Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati.
Thanks, Jason C Indiana

Stout Auctions is located in Williamsport, Indiana and they sell collections. As a matter of fact, Stout Auctions has a brass auction coming up on January 10, 2020. Check out their website. Trainz is another org. that purchases collections, but they are located in Georgia. But I have heard they will travel to look and buy a collection if its large enough. And then there are these guys, The Great Scale Model Trains Shows, which are owned and operated by Makin Tracks, LLC 3418 Meadow Wood Lane, Crozet, VA 22932. The owners of the show work with several guys who purchase large estates and resell the items at their train shows in MD.
At least they could point you in the right direction if they aren't interested in purchasing for themselves.
