The Decoder Buddy V5 is a perfect match for this decoder if you are starting from scratch. Either upgrading from dc to DCC or from one brand of decoder to another or want an intermediate step toward sound, the Decoder Buddy makes the installation easy, neat and versatile! Streamlined Backshop and other web dealers have the Decoder Buddys as well as on the website www.nixtrainz.com. See the Nixtrainz website for Decoder Buddy details.

Nick - To date, I've read of three Loksound5 decoders being fried using the Decoder Buddy V5 when they tested fine on the programmer. Any answers as to why that's happening ? The one guy ended up using an ESU adapter and that worked fine. (?)

I’ve put a few in with Tsunamis and haven’t had any problems. Not sure what’s up with Loksound and motherboards lately.

It’s hard to read when one has been punched in both eyes. I thought the “The Atlas Rescue Forum” would be a good place to tell people about the thing I had worked on for a couple of years. A thing that allowed a pos decoder to be easily replaced in not only the post ROCO Atlas locomotives but most other manufacturers locomotives. It was small and fit nicely where other DCC decoders wouldn’t. It allowed for a very clean installation of all of the decoder manufacturers 21-pin decoders. It allows for versatility in the sale of a locomotive to a person who “doesn’t like that manufacturers decoders.” I have shipped thousands of the units and had a few that have not worked. People who have responded to the email address on the package have subsequently sent accolades about the product as well as thank yous for the fast and courteous customer service. I have observed that the rate of faulty decoders Is much higher than my product. Mr. Roach, I have reached out to you on three different occasions 2 on messenger and once by email Given to me by the person who had trouble with a decoder that I worked with and received accolades and thanks for helping to get his locomotive working. I would encourage the people with any more than none to put them into their locomotives as do an increasing number of professional installers who frequent Facebook and YouTube to show off their work and include my product in not only their pictures but their list of parts used to improve their given locomotives. I apologize to anyone who I have offended by trying to spread the word about something I personally developed beside my layout in my cellar and happen to be very proud of and personally pleased with. My Atlas and Athearn Vermont Railway and New England Central locomotives work in advanced consist with sound and in particular lighting independently from either front and rear or front or rear headlights, ditch lights (the ones that have flashing ditch lights prototypically do flash), number boards, and cab light. My product line will now offer me and those who dare prototypical WORKING ground lights and step lights, not just LEDs slapped onto the bottom of a step or frame to be connected easily to a 12 function output system. www.nixtrainz.com

I don't think anyone here has a problem with your product; that out of thousands a few are defective is to be expected.
The problem we have is that you are hijacking threads to advertise your product. This thread started as a request for information about the part number for a product. Then you jump in here and promote your product. I and others here consider that to be spam.
