Is this company out of business? I checked my bookmark today, as well as google search results and they all say the website is no longer active.
Have they folded?
It would be a shame if railroadbooks.biz disappeared as their large inventory of books, regular site updates and fast shipping were excellent. I've found some real gems there through the years.

I entered that address, and the page clearly says "We are still open!"
Using the wayback machine, I found this contact info from about 6 months ago:
PO Box 4 Bloomington, IN 47402-0004
1-800-554-7463
chuck@railroadbooks.biz
You can do the rest yourself, and get the straight answer--avoiding the phrase "I heard that..."

"The Page You're Looking for is No Longer Active
3dcartstores.com offers solutions for online stores in any industry"
I wonder if I'm experiencing some sort of a technology issue.

I'm getting a "new website coming soon" message.

I suspect Colin and I are getting the same page. Which is what you see when someone has a site but no content, yet.
You, person without a name, are quite likely picking up his old hosting service, while we are getting the new one. The words "refresh your browser" come to mind.
And so do the ones: "Have you done your homework?"
And then there's: "If you're in business and have a website, get your content completed before you go active. Because your customers will think you're out of business and never come back. Unless they bother to try to contact you through the above choices."

I'm getting a "new website coming soon" message. I get this same page. Clicking on "New Arrivals" takes me into the site. Clicking on "Browse by Price | Over $50" leads to a multi-page listing of books but many are missing cover photos. Looks like a poor transition to a new website. Hope they get it fixed soon.

That sounds like Chuck Macklin who I used to know from a round robin train club when I lived in Bloomington IN. He ran a coffee shop called The Daily Grind. I last saw him at Timonium about nine or ten years ago and he was selling train books.

If there was a DNS change, this can take time to propagate and some people will see the old site, while others will get the new. Refreshing the browser will have no effect.

Still offline - perhaps they really are out of business. Perhaps demand for railway history books isn't as great as I thought.

New railroad books still seem to be coming thick and fast. Morning Sun for example puts out more new books now than they ever did.

For aspiring railway print book authors desiring a publishing deal, most roads these days lead to MSB. There are not many other options left anymore, but we're getting off topic here.

...but we're getting off topic here. I gave you three contact options two weeks ago. What are the results? Ed

railroadbooks.biz was advertising in a Model Railroader email newsletter I received a few days ago so they're definitely still in business. The site does work... you just need to click on "NEW BOOKS".

Folks, a friend let me know of this discussion. The business is still active, shipping every day. The new website is (still) under construction; I can send a pdf list to you: email "railroadbooks at earthlink dot net" for a new book list, or feel free to call 800 554 7463 or 812 391 2664. thanks.

For those folks that still buy printed books: Chuck Macklin's 812 area phone number goes to voicemail and says he is "closed due to unforseen circumstances" and he is not taking any more orders.

No. No website or 800 number. Just the voicemail message for the 812 number I described in my previous posting.

I found this email address railroadbooks@earthlink.net today by searching for him in Bloomington Indiana where he is from. Chuck stopped traveling to train shows to sell books a few years ago.

I used to be a member of a round robin model train club in Bloomington back in the day. At that time Chuck ran too shops, Daily Grind and Daily Bread. Last time I saw him was a few years ago at a show, before he stopped traveling.
