Hi, New member/new layout. 4x8 layout n scale kato unitrack #6 turnouts with manual push buttons. Reverse loop is a diagonal track running between my oval main line. Have wired Digitrax AR-1as per directions; at both ends of isolated reverse track have inserted non conductive joiners. Problem; entering or exiting from top turnout engine shorts, stalls @ low speed. However, @ high speed momentarily shorts, hesitates, but usually passes through. At bottom diagonal turnout no problem entering/exiting. Digitrax replaced original unit, but same shorting is continuing. Any suggestions/ wisdom would be appreciated. Thanks, Cris

How do you have the turnout configured? There's different options for power routing. (sorry that's for HO #6's and N scale #4's only) You may have your isolation gap too close to the turnout. Also if your train is longer than the reverse loop, you'll have issues. www.wiringfordcc.com/switches_kato.htm

If you're using a zypher, you need to close opswitch 18.
The kato insulating unijoiners sometimes break. Visually inspect them to make sure there is a plastic piece between the rails.
If the ar1 is wired backwards, it will act quirky, possibly how you described.
Try turning the sensitivity knob all the way clockwise. If that doesn't help, you all the way counter clockwise.
Good luck!
