You can skip interacting with Facebook, and just go to the Arrowhead website: arrowheadmodels.comEd

Whatever it is, I hope the data and the trucks are correct.

I heard it was the CP 1948-49 end cupola steel caboose/van in original/transfer/non-upgraded plus all versions of pool, run-through and upgraded cars including all paint schemes, numbering and motor gen varieties.

I heard it was an Ingalls, in all versions and paint schemes, plus several fantasy schemes.

Given the amount of dedication, time, effort and the large amount of cash it takes to bring a model out as a small company it is nice to see that Blaine has reached the point where he can make his next announcement.

It is an highly desired car and fits well into several modeling genres.

It is an highly desired car and fits well into several modeling genres. Finally! A true to prototype giraffe car. While Lionel actually incorporated some of the key detail elements in theirs, they did have to shorten it for their curves. I'm thinking of getting enough for a unit train. I surely hope Arrowhead does them in enough numbers. My only puzzlement is whether to run them with the giraffes all facing forward, so they can see where they're going, or to have them face alternately, so they can have conversations while they travel. Yay!!! Ed

Maybe we will finally get a Trinity BNSF icicle reefer. In 24 RD#s. I would take Cryo-Train reefers also!

For those of us that haven't been around here that long. What's with the "box" that keeps getting mentioned? Is it an inside joke? One of the things Arrowhead did to drum up interest and gather attention before their first product announcement was to show off the box it came in, and a few people have decided to turn that into a running gag.

I'd love to see some new 86' auto parts cars or some late 60-70's era tank cars with six axle trucks. ---- Ken

Box, box, box, box, box, box, box, box,
Lame, lame, lame, lame,
It's way past being funny.
Blaine is on my A list. He should be on yours, too.

Sorry, Ed, but the Arrowhead box will continue to be funny. It's comedy gold. Imagine any other brand-new company being introduced by showing off the box the product comes in. Seriously, who does that? (Unless it's a box maker.) And it's harmless fun. I doubt anyone has ever refused to buy an Arrowhead car because he showed the box off before showing off a model (heh...still funny). Blaine has been in this business for decades and he really should have known better than to announce an empty box (hee!) to start his new company. Blaine isn't on my A list because he's never made anything I wanted. But then I'm not really into most freight cars.

Part of launching any new company is getting your potential customer base aware of your existence (beyond the small number of people who frequent message boards like this).
Spoofing companies like Apple, who make a big deal out of how "perfect" their boxes and packages are - and the resulting unboxing videos that have become a YouTube staple - is one way to get people aware of your existence.

The box "thing" wouldn't have become a thing if there hadn't been issues with the cars inside of them... Wrong data, wrong trucks.

Yeah the box jokes got old kind of fast. I bought a couple of the H39 hopper cars (at discounted prices) and they are very nice. The truck and data mistake also got a bit overblown in my opinion, but the initial prices was about $50 per car so expectations where very high. It's history now, so enough said.
Include me in the “let’s see a car that’s never been done” crowd. Yes, there are dozens of inaccurate and old tooling cars that could be redone, but you got to consider the demand for new products. How many won't buy Rapido's X31A because the are happy with the Bowser version?
When the world comes back to sanity, I hope Blain and all the small business manufacturers do well. The guy really does know his stuff!
Thanks, Mark J.
