I have a simple question I think I know the answer to, but am not 100% sure.
I have the NCE starter kit: Power Cab, flat cable, curly cable, and fascia panel. I want to connect my USB interface so I can use the JMRI software. Is the setup like this:
- Power Cab to left connector with flat cable - USB interface on right connector with curly cable?
Originally, I thought I needed another bus cable to connect them, but now I think the USB is functionally just another cab.

The USB cable from your PC connects to the left side (silver) connector on the USB interface board. A curly cab cable plugs in to the right side (black) connector which is is then plugged in to one side of the NCE fascia panel that is connected to your track. The power cab flat cable then pugs into the other slot on the fascia panel. Otherwise you would have no connection to the track.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was thinking.

Thanks.
I am thinking of getting a separate Control Panel and power supply so I can do DCC adjustments/test on my main workbench, and not the one downstairs in the layout room. But I did test it all works.
