I'm trying to sort out the different D&H RS-36s released by Atlas in their Trainman line. Any corrections/additions?
No= no road number marked on carbody side near the roadname Large= large number marked on side near roadname Small= small number marked on side near road name
5012 no
5014 no
5015 wacky blue/yellow
5016 large, maybe small or no too
5018 no
5020 small
5023 large
I think another number was released in a Trainmen set? Sort of surprised Atlas never released the 5017 as preserved (small, black on white numberboards)

Yup, I built my list from that but some questions remain.

The easiest way to sort it out would be to watch eBay for each stock number to show up and see if they put some decent pictures up to see which number variant it has.

All the road numbers are listed in the archive. At least one picture of the paint scheme is provided as well. The only one I see missing is 5022 I think.
What are the remaining questions? Email Atlas or call and ask them.

Atlas's Spring Quarterly 2008 catalog, released in April of that year, showed a new Train train set, with a drawing showing D&H RS36 5018 with large numbers on the sides of its long hood. (With three freight cars and a C&O style steel caboose, an oval of track and a power pack, it listed for $175. Delivery was expected in September.
The same catalog listed D&H RS36's 5016 and 5023 with similar large numbers as expected in October; these are listed in the Atlas archive linked in the second post in this thread.
That archive lists a model of the 5022 as announced at the same time as one of the 5018, which a photo shows with small numbers.
I don't see any models of D&H 5013, 5017, 5019 or 5021 in the Atlas archive.

That's kind of strange, all but one are even numbers.
