Unfortunately, as I approach retirement, time has come to budget discretionary funds a little tighter. Sure would like a few of H10 locomotives . . . but . . . Still have to get replacement gears for the M1 and I1 locomotives I already have.

GREAT NEWS! Hope that high LW tender isn't the only one being offered...a nice 80F81 or 80P81 would be super. More appropriate for mid-50s. But nothing will stop me from buying this model. It is the one MUST-HAVE steamer for me...gotta have it! ;D

It is the one MUST-HAVE steamer for me...gotta have it! ;D I will get a least one of the H10 models. If you look closely at the picture, you will see the two H10's in the background the PRR kept at Effingham for protection power. We used to watch at this location and the H10's were always there, but as you can see, they were protection power and sadly, mostly ignored. We did get to climb in the cab and look them over by permission from the operator there locally. Larry The tender of the H10 shows up here in this picture. The T1's were the favorite locomotive for my Dad so the H10 did not get any film used on it.

Just want to clarify my tender remark...I should say an 80F or P81a as they had in late years.

I dare say a lot of guys who don't have the radii for say a T1 or Q2 (or a centipede) will be all over this. Personal experience here

Bruce Smith, the PRRT&HS Modeling Committee lead for the project, writes "The H10s from BLI will have a 7' cab with a 81" deck height, and 80F81 tender with 'Lines West' hood."

Yeah I saw that...it's looking like this release at least will have to be modeler-modified to bring it into the transition era (coal bunker, markers, headlight, etc.)...a scary thing to do to a $400 loco, at least for me. We'll see.
