I've been working constantly since Thanksgiving so not much time for modeling since then. I needed to renumber this SD45-2 and actually got it done a couple days ago. I was having a hard time figuring out how to address the numberboards, since they are painted and lettered from the inside, but I ended up just decaling over the outside. I used some of the red area from the nose stripe decal to create a background for the new numerals. I'll have to find the time to weather it next.

I've been a project-finishing machine lately, somewhat out of character for me... First up is this Tangent gon that's most of the way there: Next is an ancient WM flat that I did to match one in the WM Color Guide, other than not wanting to renumber it: The blocking on the deck is done for these: Has anyone used the Alkem tiedowns? I'm thinking about going with those for this set of cars. I have 3 more to weather and finish up, all of them custom WM speed lettered cars.

Thanks for the heads up on those trucks Rob, I was not aware of them and they'll definitely work for my D&RGW. Some more oldies from me this week, I have a project underway but it's not ready for pic just yet. Safe and Happy Christmas everyone. Mark Hills 4427 Fun. Had some fun making the belt rails for this car.

Adam, I've used those Alkem tie downs on a couple different projects, they're pretty cool, much better than leaving them off.

Same for me, tail end of Vietnam. I think they were built somewhere around the Korean war but I'm not sure that they really saw service then. Built as antiaircraft guns, but they found they were great antipersonnel weapons too--that'd be nasty.

I haven’t posted in a while due to studying. But I’ve been slowly chipping away at stuff: Weathered these two cars. Ran around at my local club with some recently completed stuff. *the geep seems to have been repainted around 1980, I model between 78-82, so idk how I want to proceed yet.

Nice flatcar with tank load. The deck almost looks like brushed metal.
I got a set of those tiedown chains stashed away but haven't decided what to use them for yet.
