Last night I installed a Loksound V5 in an older Atlas B40-8 using a Decoder Buddy and a 21 pin decoder. I loaded the file and everything appeared to be working as intended. Put it in a consist and the headlights won't come on nor would the sound start. Took it out of the consist and it worked fine again. I'm thinking it's a problem with the file, not the decoder. File is S0719. I'm baffled, any thoughts?
Thanks

What consist mode, and on what DCC system?

Advanced consist with an NCE Powercab and it was the lead locomotive. What consist mode, and on what DCC system?

Sounds like the Consist CV's aren't setup correctly for the lighting functions.

In your programmer, on the Address page, you might need to set which functions are active when in consist mode.
Mark.

Yup, I've checked the boxes. I actually unchecked the front and rear headlights because I don't want them to respond to the consist address and they work now, but the prime mover still won't start. The locomotive is in the lead, so regardless of what's checked, every function should work, right?

Advanced consist with an NCE Powercab and it was the lead locomotive. What consist mode, and on what DCC system? I just read what system you have. I had one of those, and my consist procedure that worked was: Dial up each address, and turn on whatever you want on. Then create a consist, usually address 127, with whatever address you want as lead. After that, dial up the lead unit, and all the other engines will respond. I had problems even after that if a momentary power loss or short dropped power, I had to go back to each address and start everything up again. A huge pita, and something you don’t have to do with the pro cab models.
