Only slightly. I bought their chop saw for a single task, and it worked well. I haven't used it since, because I haven't "needed" it.
Going on to another Micro Mark item (not Proxon): I bought the fancier of their (Micro Mark's brand) two mini-drill presses, and use it quite a bit. It's a sturdy lad, with a heavy cast iron base. However, it IS light enough to be portable, and I usually take it outside to use. I finally had to replace the drive belt, so it might be wise to pick up a pack of those if you buy one.
I haven't tried it yet, but I've thought of using the drill press for drilling grab-iron holes: set up the press with the drill bit turning at the appropriate speed. Then you have two hands free to maneuver to work. I s'pose I should try it with a sacrificial car before I do it to a real project.

Thanks Ed, I figure with it being a German company, the products should be high quality. I think the first thing I'm going to try is the belt sander.

Generally, when I buy power tools I get "construction grade". Things like Makita, Bosch, DeWalt. I just bought, for example, a REALLY nice Makita battery drill.
However.
Sometimes nobody from the "construction grade" group makes what you want/need. Like that little drilll press I bought. I've also got a great big floor standing one. It's really nice, but it ain't petite.
That's how I'd approach a belt sander purchase. If the Proxxon one fits your needs, I think it will likely be a good choice.

I have some stuff, and it is decent quality, comparable to dremel.

My daughter got me a TBM 115 drill press for Christmas a few years ago and I really like it. I added the micro compound table to it and it works great for detailed drilling particularly with drill bits down in the #70 to #80 size range. The build quality is outstanding and I really don't have any complaints.
