I've been a bit of a collector of quirky t-shirts over the years and fortunately railroads and t-shits can be a rather fun combination. One of my favorite parts of railroad history are all the funky fonts, graphics and logos of the 70's and 80's, so I'm always happy when I find a shirt of two that display those. Anyway, I stumbled across teepublic last fall, and they've gotten more of my money than I care to admit. The site is interesting in that it kind of works on the AirBnB or Uber model. Independent designers put up their designs and shirts are printed on demand. The great part about it is that the designers will offer subtle variations on a design and you can pick whatever base shirt color you want. In addition to some things I found for my wife, I've found a few designers that have a decent selection of railroad graphics. Bunny Robber GraphicsUntitled ColoursRingaboyThe base shirts are the softer but thinner/lighter type. You can upgrade to a thicker fabric. The larges I get in the base fabric are sized appropriately in the chest and shoulders, but taper a bit more than typical. They're usually $20, but they seem to have a $13 1-2 day sale quite often, so I pick a few out and check back frequently. Shipping seems to be flat rate, so I usually end up getting a few for myself and some as gifts. Here are a few of my recent ones. PC in heather green, Rock in Royal heather, and Seaboard in asphalt.

I've been tempted but model trains always steels money away from potential train shirts!

T-shits and freight cars are one in the same. You can never have too many.

I guess they would be good to wear to train shows or clubs or something.

I just throw them in the regular rotation - grocery store, taking the kids to the playground, lounging around the house. Who knows, I might run across a closet railfan next time I'm at the store.
