Here’s hoping it’s a U33C or U36C. To be truthful, U33C's in GN, NP and BN would sell pretty well in this neighborhood. I'd probably prefer my GN and NP patched, thank you. They would do well to do both the faired and un-faired radiator versions. Ed

I'll take a wild guess it could be a NJ Transit ALP-46/ALP-46A. I'd be over the moon if its the MP36/MP40.

my guess is some kind of freight car Could well be. Tropicana reefer! Oof! I'm not an east coast modeler, though I have a weak spot for NS, CSX and Conrail. A Tropicana reefer could cause a shift in the balance of my roster.

I'd like to see them release more '70s vehicles. Mid-seventies Ford sedans, wagon's, vans, etc.

By the mid to late 80's, a high percentage of autoracks were enclosed. We 70's open auto racks need 70's cars much more!

I wouldn't mind getting a Ford Fairmont myself. I considered buying a full-sized one when they were new but didn't for two reasons. 1 ) I thought its trunk space was inadequate even for grocery bags. 2) I believed that the the cheapest Fairmont model used the same engine as an even smaller Ford that I'd had to rent for a while, which didn't, in my opinion, have enough power to climb Mass. Route 2's Belmont Hill at an adequate speed. I believe I bought a Dodge Omni instead, which, though smaller, had better cargo space. That was the first year it was offered, and at that point it used the same engine as a Volkswagen Rabbit, so I thought of it as a cheaper version of the Rabbit.
I very certainly would welcome more models of more widely used, less expensive cars than the fancy ones a lot of suppliers seem to like to produce.

I remember those American copies of the VW Rabbit. My second car was a 78 VW Rabbit and I drove that thing from California to Oklahoma and then back, and then to Indiana and down to Houston and back to Indiana. I drove the wheels of that thing for 10 years. I sold it 150k on the odo. The one problem with it was that thermo-sensor in the radiator that turned on the electric fan. I had to deal with it thoughout the entire 10 years starting with my first trip east over the Sierra's.

My dad got a 1980 Rabbit new and it was fine until the converter element fell apart and plugged the exhaust and overheated it somewhere down near Harrisburg 5 hours from home. Warped the head.
I'd be surprised if nobody makes a model of the Rabbit, maybe sold as a Golf, Viking or one of the other euro manufacturers. They didn't change a whole lot other than going from round to rectangular headlights I think for 1980. I'm not sure what year they started building them in Pennsylvania but you could probably justify an auto rack load if you model the right era.
I remember we looked at the Omni and 6 year old me pointed out the VW/Audi logo under the hood. Wish I could remember the salesman's reaction.

It seems they never recovered after Rapido beat them to the punch on their planned FL9 with matching NH passenger cars. I remember the e-mail I sent years ago to the owner about production status of the FL9 & the response I got back was the project was cancelled with a few choice words thrown in. He was ticked off.

Okay, I've just watched the video announcement by Mr. Haedrich of Atlas at the virtual WGH show. The HO announcement is the MP36PC loco model. The firm has licenses already to produce models of the two MBTA locos of this type and ones in use by West Coast Express, I think in the Seattle area. They're hoping for more licenses for other commuter agencies in the US and Canada.
That's all that he mentioned in HO. River Point Products' own website says all their remaining products, including HO, are available only at ups-vehicles.myshopify.com and only to customers in the USA; that site shows 14 trucks and 14 sets of accessories available at reduced prices.
The Atlas N scale announcement is of former River Point Products 1992 Ford F -250 crew cab pickups, which Atlas will make in railroad paint schemes.
The Atlas O announcement simply repeats what has been revealed earlier about former MTH tooling and the forthcoming Madison series heavyweight passenger cars.

Probably for the best - a look at their news section on their website reveals a company that appeared to be struggling, blaming the struggles on Covid while at the same time most in the hobby seemed to be indicating sales were up and it was difficult to keep items stocked. www.riverpointstation.com/pages/latest_news.php

I find the RPS news painful to read. They made a fine product at a good price point. Not sure how these products will fare under Atlas' management.

Oh please not Atlas to do a GP30/35. I think we'd step back on level of detail that current locomotives have based upon their past 4-axle releases. I'll gladly wait on Scale Trains or even Athearn to do the GP30/35 long before Atlas. A GP30/35 would be nice. I'm tired of waiting for ST. Wonder whatever happened to the Scale Trains 4 axle announcement, Wasn't it supposed to be before this? Maybe they bit off more than they could chew acquiring MTH Stuff.
