I recently opened a flickr account and uploaded some photos that I would like to post to this forum. Can you link a photo posted in flickr to this forum? The instructions in the help section of this forum state the following: "To link directly to an image hosted elsewhere, you'll first need to get the direct URL to the image you want to embed within your post. Direct URL's will end with the file format of the image, such as .jpg, .png, .gif, and etc. Often times you can locate the direct URL of an image from the share options when viewing the image on the hosting service. An example of a direct image URL would be something like: i.imgur.com/tHtwFXm.gif" When I go to the flickr site and click on the photo I want to upload, the URL is www.flickr.com/photos/193572006@N04/51403584470/in/dateposted-public/The URL does not end with a a file format such as .jpg, etc. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I think there's a few buttons in the lower right corner of the photo page in flicker -- one of them should be for share. Try that link and see if that works.

I tried that, but it does not seem to work. In the share menu there are several choices. I tried to use the BB code and then paste it into the image space in thise forum, but it did not work.
I am sorry if I appear to be a dufus at this.

After much trial and error, I found success with the "embed" link from an individual flicker photo page, this is the code they give you: <a data-flickr-embed="true" data-footer="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/highfloorheaven/42217757882/in/dateposted-public/" title="VIA #2 'Canadian'"><img src="https://live.staticflickr.com/979/42217757882_e1a6ba1bbc_b.jpg" width="1024" height="617" alt="VIA #2 'Canadian'"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
From here, manually extract the URL which ends in .jpg and then paste that in this forum image box URL and you get this:

I tried to use the BB code and then paste it into the image space in this forum, but it did not work. Don't enter it in the "image area." Or attachment or anything special. Just paste the BB code into your text. On anyone's photos do a quote and then look at the BB code for the post and you'll see how it was done for a particular site.
