Good evening, and happy Sunday. We had some warm weather to melt the snow we got Thursday and Friday. I had an entertraining afternoon running some of my stuff on the club layout, and trying out some new trackwork. Most went well, though of course one car derailed in the most inaccessible part of the layout, which is on an upper level on top of a mountain 8 feet in the air. Have a good week.

Terry Derailments normally happen in the worst places!! We got to see a lot of trains on Monday that were backed up after a real derailment in Colfax on Sunday. It took the Union Pacific about 10 hours to get one of the main lines open again in Colfax. Larry

Ours is on the NS line from Winston Salem to Greensboro, NC. The lone goes around a pretty good curve with a traffic light on an intersection at a crossing. There have beena few train/car collisions there over the years.

That had to be one tough place to get to, Terry. A step ladder perhaps to get to it? Fortunately there's only been one derailment here in Town. A self propelled, CSX track inspection type unit. With 4 grade crossings in less than a mile, there have only been 2 vehicle/train grade crossing collisions in the 20 years I've been here. Thankfully, neither was too "serious".
