The first of many SD types on the D&RGW, SD7 #5300 drifts downgrade eastbound cab hop towards home at Helper, UT. Delivered in May 1953, the unit was repainted into "switcher" colors in the late '60s, ballasted to 20 tons over EMD's "nominal" weight rating they were used primarily in Utah serving branches and mines replacing the F81 steamers that held that duty. The model is an old LLP2K undec from their first release, the chassis is upgraded with Kato motor and flywheels and has been repainted with Tru-Color, decals are Micro scale. Have a great Sunday! I finished up this WP boxcar (it’s the same one from before): Factory painted/decaled atlas car. Ended up going with Tamiya hull red for the doors. Had to replace the latches and straps with exactrail parts as the atlas ones got lost when stripping last time. Used oddball decals for the door and delivery date, never tried anything on a dog before but it went alright. I also added Moloco draft gear, still need to replace the atlas trucks just not sure what with. Weathering is just acrylic washes over krylon matte finish. Then dullcote to seal.

Excellent modeling everyone. Mark, that SD-7 is spectacular. I am also interested in the caboose to the right of it. I am currently decorating an old Athearn Blue Box caboose in black D&RGW livery, so your model caught my eye. Packer, your WP box car looks great! Here is an older photo of the Santa Fe El Capitan rolling through an industrial section of my layout behind the Firestone Tire Factory on the left ( featured in last week's picture) and in front of Alba Engineering one the right which was an aerospace subcontractor. Here is a photo of the back end of the train. The city in the background has since been built up and will be the subject of future Sunday photo fun submissions.
