Some photos of the one I purchased: PRR_DD1-GHB-HO by Edmund, on Flickr I really don't know if the stripes are supposed to represent gold leaf but they look more like lime green to me. The roof-top bell is just a tad on the large side. Compare the gold leaf five-stripes on the BLI GG1 which, to me, look quite nice. PRR_Motor-lineup1 by Edmund, on Flickr DD1; DD1; FF1; GG1. Mine has a few fingerprints on the glazing but I suspect a little weathering may help make that less noticeable. PRR_DD-FF-GG by Edmund, on Flickr The DD1 on the left is an Alco Models product that I painted and installed a decoder in. The GHB DD1 runs smoothly and the sounds are decent provided by a custom ESU decoder. Thank you, Ed

PRR modelers today sure have a lot of steam & electric motive power to choose from. I wonder if the increase in types of power available over the last 15 years or so has motivated many to start modeling PRR.
I'd just like some small (2-8-2 and smaller) SP steam.

DD-1 is kind of an obscure choice, too. They're third rail electric (650 VDC) and primarily were used to haul trains in and out of Penn Station starting in 1910, by 1924 they were being replaced and shifted to the Long Island RR. They did last another 25 years there.

I bought a couple of them from MB Klein last month. Came upon them accidentally, but the novelty sure is attractive They look nice, just a tad expensive.
