Someone over at MRH forums posted that there was an ad in Model Railroader magazine that MicroEngineering is up for sale. Here is a link to the topic which shows the ad: model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/43829

Ill be perfectly content not using ME switches ever again. They look good, but require quite a bit of work to make runnable for a large/well used operating layout.
I will be using Walthers new track, and Peco from here on out. The ME yard ladder was a fantastic idea though, just..lots of work to make "right".

How is walthers new track? I haven't really seen any reviews on it since it came out.

I have a small helping of some of their switches, including some ladder 5's, what exactly is your beef with them? I have no bench work up nor a permanent use for them at the moment, I might add.

Its not even worth using them until you replace all the throwbars with PC Board ties, and add jumpers to the point rails. Point closing gap is also an issue and they take a fair bit of effort to get to line up correctly.

I will have to agree with 12bridge on a lot of this info. I have a lot, like over 15 ME switches, most worked fine I did have two I sent back. I am not sure if they were repaired or replaced. Both had the throw springs out of them. Now that I have started to ballast them I am having more problems and the closing gap is the main problem. I have not had any electrical issues with them on DCC. I did switch to some Peco and I highly recommend them. Easy to lay down, no electrical problems and no problems when ballasted.
For anything new I add on to my layout I like ME track but will stay with Peco switches.
