Had a really good time at the Raleigh Train show this weekend. The Sipping and Switching Society of North Carolina and the Ohio group were there. The setup this time was 25200 sq. ft. It took over an hour to two hours to run the layout depending on how many trains were out on the track. Loads of switching opportunities on the branch lines as well. Lots of fun for sure.
I scored what I think were some great train show deals.
- Three P2K undecorated phase I GP30's for $50 each. - Two undecorated Atlas/ Kato RSD12's for $50 each. - Three Atlas/ Kato Susquehanna RS-1's for $40 each - Four freight cars for a total of about $30.
Rob gruber from DCCTrains was there. Great guy. Finally get to put a face to a name. Also Matt from Rapido Trains was there. Not on an official visit, more to run trains and boy did he run trains. LOOOOOONG trains. Scott Chatfield was there and it was great seeing him again and just a lot of great people to meet and run trains with.
