Hi all, hopefully this post isn't offside. I know much of the world fawns over social media and other "news" websites these days but that's not what this post is about. After 23 years I still manage to maintain an old-school, ad-free and totally-free hobby website that hopefully remains of interest to modellers and railfans alike. For today the updates include a new page dedicated to Tim Hayman's models, a new page acknowledging CP Rail's unprecedented freight lease of several VIA F40PH-2Ds in 1994-95, better organization overall, more CP SD40-2 content and of course an UPDATE log so you can quickly see what was changed. Why not head on over to my domain to check if there's anything you might like to see? I appreciate all visits and comments can be sent to me via old-school email or else just posted in the thread below. www.railbus.ca/

Thanks, I like VIA, and thought it was cool how they were leased to CP as freight units…cheers

^ Thanks for the comments. Yeah, you know how short of power CP was when you saw those VIA units on all sorts of rare tracks. Fortunately they were well-photographed back then so we can appreciate them today!

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I know maintaining a web site is a lot of work. Although way beyond my modeling era, I've always had a soft spot for CP SD-40-2s. They have so many interesting details not found on many of they're American counterparts. I've even been lucky enough so see some mixed into SOO Line trains in the late 90s.

^ Thanks for the comments. Yes, it has definitely been an up and down experience as far as maintaining the enthusiasm to keep up the site over the long term amidst life's challenges! And of course the changes in technology have everyone competing to post or retweet the latest "news" and be at the top of the list for attention these days. That type of social media has never worked for my purposes to maintain an ongoing archive of information and modelling help. Glad you like the CP Rail SD40-2. CP had the 2nd largest fleet after BN and saw many variations over their lifespan. If you ever have any questions about modelling these units feel free to send them my way. I've been studying CP Rail SD40-2s and VIA F40PH-2Ds pretty much my whole life and have learned a couple of things about them.

Hi. I have completed a major round of updates over the past few days which included changes to every single page on the site. Should hopefully be clearer, more accurate and complete for the moment until some new content surfaces. Enjoy.
