I am in the process of putting the electronics module, decoder, etc from a BLI Light Mikado into a Bachmann long Vanderbilt tender to use with the Mike. There are two speakers in the small tender, box shape, of the Mike that mount beneath the decoder on the bottom of the diecast frame and facing down. Due to the spherical shape of the Vandy tender, even tho it's a couple inches longer there is no room to mount the two stock speakers. I am considering replacing them with sugar cube(s) that I have and will take up much less space. Thoughts please on the change working.

The sugar cubes will work, just wire them in series for a 16 ohm total load. That decoder will not handle less than an 8 ohm load. There are 4 ohm sugar cubes available, but they are not very common.

Thanks Mark, I appreciate the information. The ‘cubes I have are 8ohm, I’m fairly sure.

Unless they are a special order, the majority of them will be 8 ohms.
