I wonder why they didn't test run the new website before they put it up. That woulda/shoulda caught most of the mistakes that I've been seeing.
I also wonder why their site was down for so long. It normally just takes a minute or less to put up a new website--certainly not more than an hour. Once it's been tested and is ready.

Valentine's Day, 3:18 a.m., EST
Go back to Newsletter 148 as emailed by Rapido Trains, click on the images of the flyers for both the UP 40' "ACR" boxcars and the Canadian62' bulkhead flatcars and you'll see that the single cars are $54.95 US and $64.95 Canadian. This was also true about 13 hours ago as Bernd (schroed2) posted.

If you bought five you may as well buy six and sell the one you don't want, or get with somebody else and split the six pack, or find a dealer willing to split the six pack, which is what Rapido seems to want dealers to do. And it's MY job to do this, because Rapido doesn't feel like it. As opposed to Moloco or Tangent, where I can order specific numbers. Of course, Rapido offers a pretty decent discount if you buy in quantity--the bulk pack. Hold it now kids, here it comes: $0.00. And that's American dollars, not Canadian. And the UP boxcars will look mighty nice behind turbines, also. Maybe even a brace of C-855's! Ed You know these will be available from dealers and not just direct from Rapido, and the dealers will likely list by individual road number. So instead of bitching about it, you can contact your LHS and get as many cars as you want (and probably get a discount off MSRP list price which you won't get direct from Rapido either. (They're really not trying to compete and undercut their dealers...)

The bulkhead is blah - especially when the prototype is 66’ not 62’… you do realize they came in both lengths, right? No, they don't. These particular cars are 66', not 62' like a lot of US cars. The 62' is just a typo though and it's since been fixed on the website.

And how you know what my LHS will do is impressive as well. Your apparent assumption that I was planning on ordering directly from Rapido (hence generating your suggestion of an alternate source) is unfortunately incorrect. Ed
