Come on guys! Here the day is almost half over. In tribute to a thread that was active last week, show us your Foobie Pride! Here's one I did back in 2000. The base car - Intermountain ? - too much time has passed. Decals were done with an ALPs. Of course, everything is prototypically correct!

Before I post some work-in-progress pics of my loco projects, I'll do Christian a favor and post some foobies I made some years before, back when I only modeled the Port of Tillamook Bay railroad:
The first is a log car built from a Tichy 53' flat car. That kit is nowhere near from what you'd expect from Tichy, but it is cheap.
Here's a Bachmann MOW Hi-Railer pulling an Athearn BB WV Caboose. I used both as a testbed for weathering and for making the cow spots by using white decals. The Hi-railer was fittet with a Kadee coupler.
This Foobie is the first car I used to try weathering with oil colors on. I overdid it quite a bit.
And now for something completely different.
Here are some of my current projects, Portland & Western Numbers 3051, 2005, 1201 and 1501 (from left to right)

This is a foobie I did some time back, old Athearn Quad painted for the Usebelli Coal Mine up in Alaska, they did not own their cars but used standard cars from the Alaska Railroad and Alaska Basic Industries. The Tananna Valley Model Railroad club had this decal made years ago and I did this car to commemerate my time in Alaksa. I got some stuff done this week and some under construction. Atlas USRA Rebuild kit painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with a combination of Tichy and Champ Decals. The Wabash in the 50's rebuilt a number of their USRA Boxcars with steel sides. This is the second car I have done, this one has the Flag over the reporting marks as this was done on a hit or miss prospect. This car is in Ford Service for engine loading. [ Exactrail Evans 4780CF Covered Hopper kit, painted with Scalecoat II Cascade Green and lettered with Oddballs Decals. Garvey elevators purchased a large number of cars to service their elevators in the export grain trade, some were painted gray, red or green. My under construction Tangent PS 40' Combo door box, underframe work is finally finished. Finally, took my new Bowser RS-3's to the club along with a 20 car coal drag, they ran flawlessly. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

Finally a thread I can jump in and maybe not get beaten up too badly! This is a Toy Story AHM tanker with just enough Microscale decals to make it look like the factory painted aliens are just super sweet graffiti. I had a heavyweight caboose before the Navy did! Most of the weight was concentrated in the solid gold Dr. Suessian stove jack. Here's the Welcome Wagon for the atomic train The New Mexico Northern is a friend's line and I helped with the decal creation And his own patchouts on humble old Tycos And why not a Hot Wheels auto loader?

This stuff is great. I am getting wiped out by a really challenging tax season and have absolutely zero time to do any modelling. The cars lightened up my day. Thanks everyone for posting.

First up this Sunday is Rapido's F30A flat car: Pennsylvania 474276 by James Bilbrey, on Flickr All that I done with this car was to repaint the "wood" deck and air hoses. Now, the Rapido GLa two-bay hoppers. Let's start by comparing the Rapido undersides with the Bowser underside. GLA Undersides by James Bilbrey, on Flickr You'll see that Rapido's car includes the air-line that runs along the center-sill along with the braces at the bays. Now, let's move to the sides. Pennsylvania GLA's by James Bilbrey, on Flickr Several differences jump out. First, Rapido car is more "red" while the Bowser car is more "brown". The road number on the Rapido GLa is a bit "bolder" which appears more correct as well. The brace that supports the air-reservoir over the side sill is more correct on the Rapido hopper. All of the grabs are molded onto the body of the Bowser hopper. Finally, the Rapido model includes the second grab on the left side. Pennsylvania 153843 by James Bilbrey, on Flickr The interior of the Rapido hopper is similarly better detailed over the Bowser model. You can see the side braces as well as the splice plates over the joints in the side panels. Notice the difference in the rivet patterns on the side stakes, which is also correct. On the Bowser hopper, it (correctly) duplicates the "as-built" configuration of dense rivet patterns on all stakes. Now, something for the contemporary crowd. FLOX 79378 by James Bilbrey, on Flickr I started this car before I moved last year and finished it late last year. The base car is Walther's Mainline NSC 5150 Cu. Ft. covered hopper. The prototypes cars went from CN, to IC, and then on to several freight car leasing companies and are a common sight on freight trains that I see where I live. The "patches" over the CN emblem and reporting marks were done with decals that were sanded to make the original reporting marks visible before I applied the decals. I added piping to the brake details on the B-end and weathered it with various oil paints and Pan Pastels. The "tagging" was done with a colored pencil. I have couple more IC grey NSC 5150 Cu. Ft. covered hoppers to weather as well.

No foobies I haven't posted I don't think, but here are a couple PRR cars. First a F&C G28 with the ends welded for the 70s: And tonight I made a start on an X38F from the F&C X38. I just discovered these cars a few days ago and they're a fascinating combination of 1940 and 1964:

Haggis (Scottish Gaelic: taigeis) is a savoury pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver, and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and cooked while traditionally encased in the animal's stomach

Who makes those Chevrolet Malibu sedans? I don't recall ever seeing them before. Those are some castings I did a while back from a kitbash I did from some misc cars and a bit of styrene. I don't recall the origins of the cars but I do recall having to shrink the original parts to HO scale.

Just a little late. This was a custom painted reefer I bought at the Mad City Model Railroad show in Madison, WI, about 2019. The dealer/customer painter was there for the last several years, although the show has been cancelled since 2020. Accurail car.
