My printers have been extra busy recently, not just making trucks. I made a test set of blocking for Tangent's WM container gons: A Tangent flatcar with printed handbrake and cushion springs: Can't wait to share one more printing project with you all, but I want to wait until it's further along. In between prints I had time to wrap up this PRR X38H from a F&C kit:

Here is a photo from a realistic angle of a PRR X44 boxcar. Modeled using a Branchline car withmnew sidesills to match the PRR rebuild. Car was lettered with my out of print PRR decals. Next after a couple of years I finally weathered my Erie Lackawanna 40' PS1 boxcar. Car was modeled using a Kadee undecorated kit car that I added a deeper side sill and removed the running board. I used PrimeMover's excellent EL boxcar decals.

Today marks the end of 114 years of the CSS&SB running down the middle of the street in Michigan City IN. Sadly, I couldn't make it up there before the end. CSS&SB - Michigan City, IN by d.w.davidson, on Flickr In other news, I have now finished the Three Stepsisters. These are all X58 boxcars. One is a Tangent, bought at Springfield the day they came out. The other two are Rail Yard Models kits. I also finished my three remaining SOO 7-post cars, bringing the final total to six.

Gentlemen, thanks very much! Great modeling, and fine South Shore photos! I was lucky enough to be able to ride the CSS&SB from Randolph Street in Chicago to South Bend when it still ran in the street to its downtown station there in April 1970.

Back in the 70's our club went to ride the South Shore from South Bend, but missed the train there, managed to catch it in Michigan City and rode it to Chicago, along with some trips on the CTA and the C&NW out to Park Forest. We had a great time, I will have to try and find my pictures from that trip. By the way the South Shore Little Joe's were purchased new from GE by the South Shore since they were never delivered to the Soviet Union. I got a little work done this week. First up is an Atlas International Caboose kit, that closely resembles a C31 N&W caboose, which is what I painted it for, using Scalecoat II ATSF Red, and Matte Black paints with a little silver for the smokestack. Car was then lettered with Herald King Decals. Next, another Atlas kit of a Evans Blue Island Reefer, so named as they were built at Evans Blue Island, IL facility. Evans made about 4,400 of these cars in the 1970's, some to railroads and many on short and long term leases to users. This was one of their demonstrator and or short term lease paint scemes. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Wabash Blue, Silver and Matte Black paints then lettered with Herald King Decals. For my club picture this week, went back in the archives for a pair of ex-Illinois Terminal SD39's with a mixed freight on the Strongsville Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

A couple boxes being spotted on a sliding to unload, then reload. Built a walthers feedmill kit I slit every board in a natural staggered way to make it look like the boards were individual.

Been having some mental health issues and the only real thing that keeps me grounded is working on my models. Co-workers and family don't get why i can do this tedious stuff for hours but lose patience driving...lol CSX SD50-2 2488 is nearly complete. All warning decals applied. Stanchions and grabs painted. Just getting around to installing them. ESU and scale sound systems speaker will be going in it. 20220224_180507 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr 20220224_180528 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr 10 years in the making. I started this NYSW SD60 project before my son was born and had lots of hiccups and problems. I got sick of looking at them in a box. If they got messed up while painting they woulda met the scrappers torch. 20220226_184932 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr All 6 SD60's are painted and decaled. Only one frame needs to be painted black and they'll be assembled and ready. I decided to paint all 4 of the NYSW SD70M-2's in the yellow jacket and they look amazing. 2 are with factory sound and will have their speakers upgraded to scale sound systems versions. 20220228_201006 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr Another project i started almost 10 years ago are a paif of FWWR SD40-2's and RCPE SD40-2's. I got one FWWR unit painted and decaled. Gotta find the other FWWR unit. The RCPE units got the G&W yellow sprayed so far. 20220302_094438 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr i'll fix the overspray 2022-03-04_12-39-09 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr

SteveF45,
Good on you for finishing old stuff. I find it really helps the motivation when you know stuff is finished.
