Something, something about the ST GP30 ad featuring not only so many beautiful GP30s but a CSX RDMATE as well sparked something in my remaining brain cell...
Enjoy! (Or not, don't let someone else tell you what to do!)

"Leasure Railway Enterprises (parent organization of Leasure Railway Engineering and Leasure Railway Equipment) announces the first products from their GP30 rebuild program.
Having saved most of the ex-Rio Grande GP30 locomotives from the scrapper (following the UP-SP merger), a program was launched to determine a way to save one of EMD's most iconic locomotive designs.
"We wanted a way for our customers to not only move their freight, but have locomotives with a lot more damn style than what you currently see out there today," said one executive who spoke on condition of anonymity.
By utilizing EMD's 710ECO powerplant, the classic lines of these locomotives were able to be preserved while upgrading them significantly from their ORIGINAL EMD567 prime movers (a testament to the resourcefulness and dedication of the D&RGW employees that maintained them).
As the pilot locomotive for this project was undergoing final testing and preparing to enter the LREX lease fleet, the decision was made to convert a few of the GP30 locos into RDMATE or "slug units"- no prime mover or generators of their own, but powered from a dedicated "mother" loco.
Naturally, the term "30-30 slug" came up almost immediately as a project title and marketing slogan.
The "Sonoran Pacific" lease fleet name was kept, but the loco was renumbered "3030" and painted back into its original Rio Grande colors- right down to the "reversed" sander valve access doors.
The RDMATE wears LREX's demo scheme and number "230" to further reference the "30-30" project theme.
Naturally, with this project being named with a pun, the mother loco had to be named in honor of one of the greatest providers and enjoyers of puns, the one and only R. G. Meyers.
His name is proudly applied to the access doors under the cab, with duct-tape themed lettering giving a nod to his humor, resourcefulness, ingenuity, and love of "The Red Green Show".
A second slogan is applied to RDMATE 230, along the blower duct (it is duct tape after all...)"
Enjoy! (Or not, don't let someone else tell you what to do!)
